Lenovo expanded its smartphone A-series by launching Lenovo A500 in India. This smartphone becomes an another entrant from Lenovo into the Indian market. Competitively priced, it plans to take on other budget smartphone in the market. The Lenovo A5000 brags about a 5 inch HD IPS display with a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, which translates to a pixel density of 300 PPI. The Chinese company also states that the handset features rain and splash-proof screen protection. The device is powered by a MediaTek (MT6582) quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. It is coupled with 1GB of RAM and Mali T760-MP2 GPU. It comes with an in-built storage capacity of 8 GB, which can be further expanded upto 32 GB via a microSD card. The Lenovo A5000 comes with an 8 Megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash along with a 2 megapixel fixed-focus camera on the front. The most significant factor of this smartphone is its large 4000 mAh battery, which Lenovo claims, can deliver up to 17 hours of talk time and 33.5 days of standby time on 3G networks. On the connectivity front, the phone also includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS and Micro-USB.
