The new PC Manager app is similar to various Windows system cleaners or system optimization programs, such as Piriform’s CCleaner or Iobit’s Advanced System Care. Spotted by the Twitter account Aggiornamenti Lumia, the PC Manager app is currently available in public beta and being tested in the Chinese market.

It allows users to optimize their computer by performing a health check, clean up the computer’s temporary files, manage storage, control which apps start up with Windows, manage active apps, the ability to end tasks quickly, optimize background tasks, and use Microsoft Defender to check for simple security features including virus scanning. The new PC Manager app offers the following features for Windows users, which is currently being tested by Microsoft: One-click acceleration: Cleans up system debris, releases occupied system resources, and promises to make your Windows as fast as new. System space management: Deep cleans system storage space, helps you manage large files, helps you turn on Disk Sense, and free up your computer storage space. Comprehensive physical examination: It quickly detects computer problems and abnormalities, cleans up garbage, detects viruses, and solves system risks & issues with one click. Professional virus removal: Microsoft PC Manager embeds Windows Defender definitions to protect your computer. The new PC Manager app is available to download from an official Microsoft website in Chinese. While the app will run in English once installed, it is unclear if it supports other languages besides Chinese and English. According to the download page, PC Manager supports Windows 10 (build 1809) and later, which means it should work both on Windows 10 and Windows 11. It is also aimed more at low-spec laptops and PCs. Currently, it is unclear when the new PC Manager app will start rolling out to the general public, as Microsoft has yet to make an announcement about it.
